At this time, I had escaped from an artist in residency program in country NSW. I found no inspiration amongst the trees and rocks. I checked into a Hotel in central Sydney and arranged to paint a study from the MacQuarrie Bank Building.
The model is a Japanese student who asked to sit for me after I gave a talk at the Victorian College of The Arts, Melbourne.
