Manhattan, 2008
Oil on Canvas
142 x 185 cm

Although I lived in Manhattan for seven and a half years (1975-1983), I had almost no paintings of the city. When I revisited it  in 2007,  it was my goal to make a painting depicting  it. This view is from my friend, Hillary's balcony, on the upper West Side. I painted a study on site, then created the large work in my Roswell studio.

The model is Cassandra from Roswell.

Collection of The Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art, Roswell, New Mexico
