The Enemy Within , 2008
Oil on Canvas
183 x 244 cm, Diptych

The title,'The Enemy Within', comes from a book by Michael Savage, a brilliant US talk show host who I listened to, in my Roswell studio, in the afternoons.

The painting features the Roswell Air Base behind. The pose is one inspired  by visits to Mexico. It is the pose of the heroic Aztec warrior and the princess, common in Mexico in posters and on blankets, etc..

I last used a version of this in 1988, in my painting, 'Strangers'.
